Jammu :Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College, R.S.Pura in collaboration with J&K AIDS control
society , Department of Health and Medical Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir organized
different activities in order to celebrate National Youth Day. The different activities was organized
under the patronage of worthy Principal Prof (Dr.) Rajni Bhagat and supervision of Prof Neelam
Kumari, convenor, Red Ribbon Club .The students of the club actively participated in Poster Making
Competition and Discussion. Students were divided into small groups and encouraged to discuss the
relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy in present scenario. All the participants put forth their
ideas and thoughts in a very disciplined way. In the second activity, students prepared posters on the
teaching of the Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda is considered one of the great Indian Monks
,philosopher and religion teacher. The motto of all these activities were to urging the youth to lime up to
the values ,principles and beliefs that Swami Vivekananda embraced .The Prof Neelam
Kumari(Convenor Red Ribbon Club) told the students about the objective and importance of celebration
of National Youth Day. She also told them about the theme of National Youth Day 2024- Arise , Awake
and Realise the Power You Hold. More than 20 students of GDC R.S.Pura participated in the Poster
Making Competition and poster were adjudged by Dr Sunil Mangoch (HoD Dogri and Dr Rekha Rani,
Department of Education). First position was secured by Ishaan Bharat of B.A Sem -I, second position
was secured by Neetu Kumari of B.A. Sem-III and third position was secured by Amit Digra of B.A
Sem-I. Prizes were also distributed among the winners. Other faculty members viz Dr Rajinder Kumar,
Dr Sudesh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
