JAMMU: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today directed the ward In-Charges to increase public outreach program in every ward in Jammu urban.
The directions were issued by Manjit Singh during a meeting with the leaders of Jammu urban, which was held at the Apni Party Office, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
In this meeting, threadbare discussions were held regarding the grassroot level working in ward and emphasized on to educate people about policy and agenda of the Party.
While addressing the meeting, the Former Minister appreciated the ward In-Charges for their work while asking them to intensify their ongoing outreach program to strengthen the Party.
He further stated that “The ward level interaction should be increased on a regular basis and a plan should be chalked out so that the issues of the masses can be highlighted to resolve them.”
He said that the wards in Jammu lack basic amenities, overall development, cleanliness, irregular drinking water and unscheduled power cuts.
“These issues have affected the normal life of the people in Jammu whereas the traditional political parties have left the people without representation. On the other hand, the Govt officials in JMC work for their promotion, but not on the ground,” he added.
The Corporators would raise the developmental issues in JMC. However, the Corporation does not exist after it was dissolved, he said, and added that the Govt officials have failed to address the public issues and the public representatives have not been given heed in decision making policy for development of wards.
He stated that the garbage remains scattered in the wards / residential colonies and the drains choked with no efforts from the JMC to work on the basic things to improve the livelihood by providing facilities to the people.
In the wake of the emerging situation, he said that the Apni Party leaders should come forward and highlight the issues of the people for their redressal.
“The people have pinned their hopes with the Party and its agenda because it does not discriminate with anyone on the name of region or religion. We shall work together to bring people out of unpleasant situations, and upgrade their living standard,” he further stated. The meeting was attended by all the leaders of Jammu Urban and they also put further their suggestions.
